It’s never too late to learn to play an instrument
"I was told I had once said I would like to play the flute when my children gave me one as a retirement present. Surely a mad ambition at 65 ! Especially for a non-musician who had only had piano lessons to a low grade 50 years before.
Roll up regular lessons with the brilliant and patient Carolyn Hawkins (and regular practice every morning until breakfast time; my wife is not a very early riser). Grade 8 passed last year and, more important, continuing pleasure from a musical life with others, and on my own which I never expected.
So, take it from me. It is never too late to start.......Robert Boyd (now 78) "
